DEALERS SAY THE market turned volatile last Friday afternoon because of the month-end closing. Nonetheless, clear themes emerged during the week that may continue to be played out in the weeks ahead, they say. The oil and gas, offshore and marine play is one sub-theme that could persist. Within the sector though, interest is likely to rotate. The laggards are beginning to gain ground. Cosco Corp has somewhat underperformed but could play catch-up. Last Friday, the stock saw heavy volume with 79 million shares traded. Neptune Orient Lines surged after it announced that rates had been raised on subsidiary APL's European routes.
